About me

My name is Vicky Makri and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cardiff Metropolitan University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Utrecht University in the Netherlands.

As part of my clinical training, I worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Psychiatric Hospital of Athens "Dromokaiteio" in the short-stay ward for psychotic disorders, while at the same time I offered voluntary work at the Solidarity Social Clinics Network of the organization 18ANO.

Since 2021, I have been working in private practice, conducting therapy sessions with adults in both Greek and English, online and in person, following the Person Centered and Focusing Psychotherapy approach.

Part of this work took place during my two-year stay in the Netherlands.

In 2024, together with Christina Chairistanidou, Clinical Dietitian – Nutritionist, I co-created My Body Workshop, a series of experiential workshops designed to highlight the connection between body, nutrition, and psychology through a variety of thematic modules.

Alongside my private practice, I collaborate with the Municipality of Vrilissia, providing individual therapy sessions for adults and administering memory tests to older adults. I also participate in group meetings for people with Asperger’s Syndrome at the Hellenic Asperger Association, while at the same time receiving training and being part of the supervisory group of the Hellenic ADHD Association.

Until recently, I was also a member of the program Prolepsis – Friendship at Every Age, where I provided telephone companionship to elderly people.

I place great importance on ensuring the quality of my therapeutic work and on caring for the people who trust me. For this reason, I attend weekly individual supervision with experienced colleagues.
